You can rack up as many overages as you or they want - have $200 dinners and $50 breakfasts and drink to your heart's content in the bars...you'd just get your $15 or $25 or whatever amount times the number of nights you stayed. Easy. And it would be your choice/fault if you didn't use it all.

And your Marriott analogy makes no sense - it is an 85K free NIGHT certificate. Of course they wouldn't use it for 5 nights (aren't you getting the 5th night free?) or does Marriott not do that.
