To the contrary, St. Thomas Aquinas taught that 33 is the "perfect age", which our resurrected bodies will have in heaven, as will He who brought us there. Similarly, according to prominent Islamic scholar Al-Ghazali, the residents of Jannah (Paradise) will exist eternally in a state of being age 33.
Returning to the topic, a DuckDuckGo search (unlucky 33) does not disclose much more than Japan. Perhaps when these aircraft were ordered the U.S. had a lot more tourists from Japan?
