I know someone who was knighted and therefore had the title of Sir. When in the USA the Sir title didn’t exist or appear on a lot of computer systems. Therefore when he or his PA booked some things he came up on the system with Mr with his first name registered as Sir and his actual first & last names as a double barreled surname. Don’t think it was a problem with airlines who accept the Sir title.
