all airlines charge for hold baggage, you still get a free snack and water on BA with the option to purchase more, seats are mostly more comfortable that low cost carriers and the vast majority of BA destinations use jet bridges with some exceptions owing to airport infrastructure unlike Ryanair which only use steps. BA charge a premium to fly with them and should not be charging people to take a 2nd bag onboard or considering it at all. BOB has been in place for years if you remove one of the key reasons to fly BA over easyjet who would pay more to fly with them to pay to take a 2nd bag onboard
