I frequently travel through AMS but had a bit of a different situation planned and wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything. Flying GVA-AMS-MIA with an overnight layover in AMS (9pm arrival to AMS and 10:30am departure the next morning). My plan was to try out the Mercure hotel inside the NS zone in AMS so we won't have to deal with security and immigration in the morning and can just head straight to breakfast at lounge 52. Just wanted to make sure we will be able to access the NS zone roughly 13 hours before our flight (they don't close the immigration booth at night, correct?)? And will our bags be checked all the way through? We obviously won't be able to stay at this hotel if we're forced to pick them up in AMS and re-check the next morning.
I did purchase this as one ticket and KLM is showing my trip as having a transfer of 13 hours, however when I look at it on Delta it appears to break up the travel into two separate segments (GVA-AMS and then AMS-MIA), although I'm not sure if that matters since KLM is the operating carrier. Thanks!
