I think the free WiFi will cause more issues as pictures and most emails will never load and this isn’t communicated well with pax — “messaging only” suggests images too — so lots of disgruntled folk who wouldn’t have even bothered with WiFi if it wasn’t free.

RE new seats — they had the opportunity to do something industry-leading by introducing IFE of some kind, even as American do with free films and TV via the WiFi portal. I imagine the unit cost of adding screens to seats would be prohibitive but even WiFi-enabled IFE would have provided a true, tangible point of difference from LCC. Oh well.
