I have a US to Thailand award flight on hold that transits through Tokyo (HND) with a layover time of 9.5 hrs. How difficult would it be to leave the airport to get out and do something. Would it be a terrible hassle with customs, etc? I really don't want to be stuck on HND for 9.5 hrs, although my award fare is Premium Economy on JAL; so I could spend my time in the First Class JAL Sakura Lounge at HND. What's that lounge like? They only offer alcohol and snacks? The JAL First Class Sakura lounge in NRT I've been to and that's tremendous; huge and plenty of real food.
