As my seat had broken in flight and I hadn’t been able to sleep, I asked for the free layover hotel room and ended up at what is at best a 2-3 star in the city centre. I asked if they had better and they said it was that or nothing, which was charming. We then had to take an old minibus to get there. The included food was a heavily rummaged buffet that I didn’t dare risk! My flight is in 5.5 hours and I’ve managed to get some sleep so I’m going to head back to the airport and the lounge now to eat. Overall this has been such an underwhelming experience and not first class at all.
T be fair, if someone was in the jacuzzi, they the take an hour to clean and refill it. Getting a sleep room is pot luck, but they never seem that organised. Totally agree re champagne.
