I am reopening this old thread as, yesterday, with horror and shock, was denied an interline baggage from Taipei checking in with Air China (CA) and connecting with Lufthansa in Shanghai towards Europe. I got a flat NO, "you need to go through passport control and collect your baggage in Shanghai and check in again with Lufthansa". For the record, all was a single booking made with Lufthansa, on a 220 Lufthansa ticket.
I spare you the details of running like a headless chicken up and down Shanghai airport and explaining to the Chinese police why I wanted to get in and out so quickly from their country...
Is there an updated list of interlining that I can look at? Is there any point in wasting my time asking for an explanation from Lufthansa? Should not Lufthansa warn customers before or after they buy a ticket with them that there is no interlining?
Your views are warmly welcome!
Thanks!
