Very true. Even if the taste is good, the presentation is awful. I had one flight in La Premiere once and the flight attendant spent 5 minutes just on the presentation of the dish. Easy to do if you only have to handle two passengers I guess :-)
Obviously none of this is the FA’s fault, this is how KLM decides to package and plate it at the catering service. It could have been done better: make the beef recognisable as chunks of beef with spices and serve it in small porcelain bowl. Don’t choose stamppot but use rice. Use some vegetables for a touch of colour. Most of this can be done easily at the catering prep where it would elevate the dish without blowing up costs. The FA would still just bring it out in 1 tray, but it would be a world of difference.
