Has anyone noticed that J awards on trans-pacific routes are almost non-existent when searching for China? I am looking at all the major Chinese cities from the continental USA, and there is absolutely.....zero when searching on Flying Blue. It's not that the prices are expensive, it's that there are no options, period! Could I be searching the wrong way or something? Yes, we know that the Flying Blue program tends to prefer routing via European hubs, but I really don't want to add tons of extra hours by flying USA-Europe-Asia in that manner (not to mention that those are extremely expensive in points). Any ideas?
Given the very limited number of seats between the US and China, why would you expect MU, CI, KE, or DL to open up partner awards availability?
Flying Blue doesn't have a preference for routing via CDG/AMS, they do have near-last-seat availability on AFKL.
