To solve your immediate problem however, try routing VRA-YUL-LHR. That will save you 120 miles (give or take) over routing this segment via YYZ.
The problem with this one tho is that any airline involved in the ticket could cancel the remainder of the itn at their own leisure? I don't have the time to search now, but I seem to remember that there have been cases of e.g. SQ canceling or refusing the segments that they flew on itn of tickets that were marginally acceptable.
