You've got Boeing to thanks for that. SQ is supposed to debut new seats a few years ago but Boeing's perpetual delayed delivery of the 777X threw a wrench in that plan. Expect same decade-old tired seats for the next 3-4 years until SQ gets deliveries of those new planes. Anticipated to be 2026 but who knows.

77W is also hardly a nice cabin to be in on long flights. Noisy and as dry as a dessert. It's also a very old plane. Old planes and old seats.

SQ made some smart investment in the lounges, and their crews is still one of the best in business so it relieved the dated hard product a bit. And there are definitely worse airports than Changi to fly into.
