Yes was escalating. These were series of messages I got from my wife during flight:

8.48 The pilot said there was an altercation in economy cabin with flight attendants and some passengers and that when we land, we have to remain in our seats until the authorities come in and assess the situation.

9.13 Now pilot just announced that it is escalating and they might have to divert the plane to the nearest airport.

9.16 Man is in handcuffs.. has problems with girl friend and is just yelling. They are at the very back of the plane.

9.38 Diverting to Maine. Just announced.

9.58 Landed Maine
