Paying at the hotel but when I tried to give my IHG number on checkin I was told that there was no point as there would be no points or recognition. That, I was told, was because it was a 3rd party Expedia booking. I pointed out it was an Amex FHR but was again told that as they use Expedia there was no point in putting the number onto the booking. Is this now common?
Later: on checking out I asked the, different, staff member whether my IHG number had been added to the account. It hadn’t. He happily added it and the full points posted this morning.
