In terms of allowance, does it matter that the first flight on itinerary is economy?

We are hoping to travel with just cabin luggage (2x 7kg each?) and have lounge access on each of the three flights. Is this the case?
Unless you have *G status, lounge at just MEL and BKK. Non-status access is based on departure flight cabin.
These are departure lounges

The Check bag allowance is up to NZ , many airlines will take in account the later business class but it is an airline by airline decision. No *A rule.
The cabin allowance will probably be NZ economy carryon allowance (not business).
Both should be check with the folks in the NZ forum.
