Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as setting up either WeChat OR AliPay to be able to send private RMB payments to private guides that we're interested in using for our upcoming trip to China? It seems that in order to top-up your RMB balance in either app, or to send or receive money from the WeChat/Alipay balance you *need* a Chinese bank account. The US-based credit card linking only seems to apply to commercial purchases where shops (that accept/support this form of payment) scan your code.

Does it work the same way with private parties/individuals who are in China - can they just scan my code (or I scan theirs) to request and send payment, etc?
