Happy Thorsday Lounge! I have been neglecting Flyertalk. I logged in yesterday and saw I was four or five pages behind just on the Lounge. I've been busy but mostly just stressed to the point of inaction, which is not good. I decided to take a 7 AM flight back yesterday instead of my original 11:40 booking. I was first on the standby list for 30 open seats (or 40, the AA app was very unrealiable on this whole Standby thing) so I felt safe not paying the fee for a confirmed seat. And they put me in an aisle MCE seat even though I had not booked that nor do I qualify for any upgrade so I have that going for me.

I'll try to join HH tonight, probably early if I can wing it. I am trying to get through Dune on Netflix before it goes away at midnight.

Tropicalia is my local go-to. Nice IPA brewed in Georgia and I have never had a bad pint. Not too strong either.
Tropicalia on tap pretty much everywhere is one of the things I miss about Georgia. At least I can get it here now as of about 18 months ago, and my local beer shop keeps it stocked for me. I found a really good craft beer bar in BCN near the ramblas if anyone is in the area in the future

It's probably too late since I'm so behind but Mother booked a vespa tour for their trip to Rome last October and they LOVED it. They each had a driver and they took them all through the city. So they got to see the big sights from the road at night. They stopped at several places including a local bar and a local restaurant in some of older, non-tourist areas of the city and the tour guides had wine and food with them so they got to talk a lot about all they were seeing. It sounded fun. Happy to ask her where she booked it if you're interested.

It is an exciting day for me as well since I've just been staffed. I actually had two teams fighting over me, though one was not aware of the other. I actually had to take my second choice since they signed the contract first. On the bright side, I don't need to look for another engagement until November.

It's always good to be in demand! Congrats!

WE HAVE TO CANCEL THE OPEN HOUSE ON MARCH 10.

Now to explain.

About 4 weeks ago, MrsSG injured her foot. When the pain didn’t subside in a couple of days she went to a RediMed, had it X-Ray’d. he diagnosis was that she bruised the foot. She took Tylenol for the pain and followed a course of treatment as prescribed. It didn’t seem to get better and she scheduled an appointment with her Dr. in NJ since we were going up for other medical appointments.

She saw the Dr. yesterday and he determined that she had a fractured metatarsal. He told her that it probably started as a stress fracture, which wouldn’t show on an X-Ray and might not even show on an MRI. It then became a ‘regular fracture’ as a result of her exercise while boxing, doing Pilates, working out at the gym and going for long walks as well as multiple trips up and down the 21 steps to our apartment.

The Dr. put her in a soft cast and told her to stay off the foot for 4 to 6 weeks. The alternative was surgery, which he didn’t wanted to do as a last resort and that would mean staying off the foot for 6 weeks post OP.

Staying off the foot means using a ‘Knee Scooter’ and only 1 trip a day down and up the stairs. It won’t be easy living and it’s impossible for us to get the party organized and managed.

We return to New Orleans tomorrow evening and I plan to be on HH Thursday,

Really sorry for those who were planning to attend.
Sorry to hear about Mrs. SuperG's foot, wishing her a quick recovery. The logistics for me were still not quite working out and I logged in to let the group know that barring a miracle I was going to have to pass this time.
