Question on Upgrade Vouchers:
- upgraded from PC light (AF operated) to BC CDG-ICN (777-300ER)
- applied it to friend who only has Explorer status
- she booked separate booking; did it because booking more than 1 passenger on same booking increased the price of the original PC fare by 300 euro per passenger (but that is another discussion not for here)
Question: this upgrade did not allow for free seat selection, but had to pay 85eur for it.

Assistant didn’t understand it and just said: this is what the system tells me. Does anyone have an explanation for this perhaps?
- is it because the upgrade doesn’t change the underlying rules regarding seat selection of the PC light?
- is it that upgrade vouchers never come with free seat selection?
- is it because the booking was separate and not on my booking?
- some other explanation?
