One of the things I forgot to mention was how shocked we were at how quiet and smooth the train was overall. The train starting to move was imperceptible. No mechanical sounds in our cabin either, just quiet sound of air moving through the air vents, which could be controlled. Likewise, we were expecting the ker-chunk of the rail joints, but apparently those don't exist anymore with continuously-welded rails being the norm now.
