I transited ICN a few weeks ago heading to/from BKK. On the outbound I specifically asked the agent and she directed me to remove the ziploc bag of liquids just as I did my laptop. On the return I was a bit rushed and did not remove the liquids and there was no issue. My husband did forget to empty his water bottle and that was promptly found though and poured out by the agent. I will say that ICN was strange in that they only allowed one passenger up to the belt at one time to place their belongings through the scanner. It wasn’t a free for all like US security.
