Phuket Airport Departure Far Left Side Immigration Line
Checking in at 06:15 on Leap Day there was a significant pair of lines from the initial passport/ticket check feeding into the wall and diverging into the main immigration hall. Those two feeder lines further channeled into several roped lines with each one feeding a single immigration booth. i understand the staffing shortages recently reported in the press so not surprised there was only one agent per station; very slow. However, as luck would have it on this Leap Day, I was ushered into the far left rope line by an agent about to start a shift in the crew lane; furthest left station. The VIP station was between Crew and our Foreign lane, but when there were no VIP customers the agent would wave someone over from our lane. Needless to say this is an advantage presented to our far left Foreign lane. It gained speed as the occasional approach of VIP customers seemed to dry up as I got closer to the front and as an added benefit the VIP lane lady seemed to be twice as fast processing passports as the old fellow in tthe Foreign lane.
YMMV applies here, but recommend you consider the far left lane when things are jammed up there and there is only one agent per station.
Cheers,
