If making the SYD flight was critical, I might have investigated trying to drop RNO-SFO and driving to SFO ahead of the storm, but a little late for that.

I agree with aussieinsf that I would be at least as worried about the general prospect of an evening E75 flight touching SFO during a weather event. RNO could be fine and your frame could be hours behind schedule or have its RNO turn canceled solely due to flow control in SFO. The principal factor for that will be wind, and it's a little early to see NWS wind forecasts for Saturday - however a blizzard warning is issued solely on the basis of wind speed, and not snowfall amount, so in the mountains the winds will be severe during the warning period.

It seems likely the passes will close, and even if they don't it will be far too late to make it to SFO in time by the time your flight cancels.

I would probably call this something like 70-30 in favor of making the SYD flight as it stands.
