At the instant I triggered GGL I received two emails, one confirmed that a GGL membership pack had been ordered, and the other was an invitation to use the partner cards. A few days later a "Great news, you've upgraded" email arrived - one of these appears to be sent for each tier transition.

I might have, ahem, ordered some, ahem, extra luggage tags recently....
(obviously to sell on eBay and not actually to use myself, I would never do anything so gauche....)
