Car rental in New Zealand advice?
We will be renting a car for just under 6 weeks in New Zealand (South Island, picking up and returning from Christchurch Airport) in January.

Any advice on what to look out for when renting in New Zealand and also what companies to use/avoid? I assume most of the roads we will encounter on our trip around the island will be good and do not require a 4WD?

I will be BA GGL and have AMEX Platinum card, will any companies offer a good deal with either of these?
