Be mindful that the connection time at PHL might be a bit tight. It took me 45mins + to clear immigration last August then you have to go through security to pick up the next flight. Fingers crossed you make the transfer quickly.
An overnight hotel at LAX (although generally not cheap) gives you the opportunity to avoid 12 hrs at the airport.
Have you considered seeing if you can pick up some US internal flights during your time in LAS to gain extra TPs?

Yeah unfortunately I think LAX will have to be a hotel unfortunately.
I had not considered doing an additional run out of LAS - it sounds interesting but might be pushing the boundaries of my stamina - what are some typical good value routings?
