Filed a claim ASAP. Normally I don't even check a bag to HNL but we always end up bringing a bunch of things home. This was practically empty.
The Topas is from 2010 and has been all over the globe and repaired a couple of times. The Ala Moana store managed to fix it in just a few days - replaced all 4 wheels and a couple of rivets.
Hawaiian picked up the tab for the repair which was really nice.
Our hosts were disappointed. They wanted to take photos of me checking into the Royal Hawaiian with our belongings in a stylish black trash bag.

😱 That looks terrible. I heard that luggage can avoid being damaged if you load it with something even some torn down boxes etc that you can throw away once you get to your destination. That's just what I have heard. But I wouldn't even check a Rimowa in the first place getting all those dents and scratches. But I'm in the minority. Thanks for the photo.
