Kudos to the Rimowa store staff in the Ala Moana mall.

The "handlers" at Hawaiian Airlines must have dropped my case right on the wheel. Sheared right off.

Filed a claim ASAP. Normally I don't even check a bag to HNL but we always end up bringing a bunch of things home. This was practically empty.

The Topas is from 2010 and has been all over the globe and repaired a couple of times. The Ala Moana store managed to fix it in just a few days - replaced all 4 wheels and a couple of rivets.

Hawaiian picked up the tab for the repair which was really nice.

Our hosts were disappointed. They wanted to take photos of me checking into the Royal Hawaiian with our belongings in a stylish black trash bag. .
