Were the meatballs a pre-order or onboard option?

I've got a EWRSTL (mainline) flight coming up that has "snack" listed as meal and curious as to what that actually entails, although in the past this flight typically was coded as B/L/D. On Express flights that typically consists of the shelf-stable cheese plate served on a tray, but in the past I've had mainline flights that were coded "S" but ended up serving a full meal.
Snack = snack basket for flights under 900 miles. Think packaged popcorn, cookies, pretzels, maybe fruit leather, possibly almonds.
