because of the fare rules on international trips that have already begun (you already flew the outbound leg), you have to call in to get the flight credit applied to a future flight. It will take some maneuvering with the fare desk to price it out correctly, but it’s not usually a problem (I just did it in a similar situation). Unfortunately if you don’t have status this will require waiting on hold for some time, but that’s the only way to ultimately use the credit.
What did you book using the credit? Was it another flight to the same destination or were you able to fly elsewhere. My credit was from a trip from the US to Europe. I know I have to fly international to use it, but can I fly to Mexico or do I need to fly to Europe? Also, if I don’t use all of it what happens to the remainder?
