DOT has approved 15 more weekly round trips for CAAC airlines which I assume means 15 more for some combo of UA/DL/AA as well.
Means we’d be up to 100 round trips total between the USA and China come April.
Hopefully they’ll completely end these caps soon which benefit no one but the US Big 3.
And it seems like a big stumbling block in the negotiations have been overcome -- seems like new flights from the China side won't be crossing Russian airspace, taking away the excuse to whine from the US airlines. Operationally, I'm not sure what this means for US destinations in the midwest (O'Hare) or east coast. Higher fuel costs for sure, but can they even fly without refueling?
