My LAX-AKL flight on UA metal showed a TBIT gate assignment until about 24-36 hours before departure, when it switched to T7 and stayed that way all the way until departure. It is all but a given that OP's flight will depart from T7 and that they will have a short walk from the ORD arrival gate to the AKL departure gate.
