above analysis is excellent. tidepools is just bad. armbands like at an all inclusive. queueing for rationed towels from a single stand staffed with one person who also handles cabana rentals & beach chairs. dated hallways evocative of Circus Circus. the one main point where i disagree with conventional wisdom in this thread is the standard suite. it is lovely, remodeled, large, can see ocean from patio, convenient access from patio to beach & pools. i’d say top 10% of standard suites in the hyatt system. spa is lovely. grand club is pretty good - been so long since i’ve seen one
