What if an FA asks whose backpack is this in the bin to make room for a rollaboard and says to move it to the floor underneath the seat in front of you? Do you tell them no or do what they say? Asking out of curiosity.
In over 35 years of flying I have never once been asked to remove my backpack from the overhead compartment. Since I am almost always in an aisle seat, my backpack won't fit under the seat in front of me, and I'm not putting my backpack at the feet of someone else so that my laptop and other electronic equipment would be subject to damage.
