Security check in the UK is acceptable for air travel in EU, airport layout permitting (you have to go through transfer security usually in CDG or FRA for example)
Security check anywhere in EU is acceptable to transfer in EU to anywhere in the world including the UK. If you have a further transfer in the UK, you probably have to go through transfer security (for sure in LHR)
