update - selection box appeared in relation to transferring lifetime 50 k benefit but didn't work (error message saying try again or select new transferee) kept following instructions (laptop not app , app not laptop, incognito , beta version Firefox etc . Finally got call from concierge saying there is a 2 mm lifetime AP group and that I could expect a call tomorrow ... call came a week later and the mm agent did it manually.... then received letter saying I would be contacted the next day to select my "bespoke " gifts .... 6 days or so later concierge called to ask if I was good . I advised yes I was good as nominee was now a 50 k for life (useful benefit for university student abroad ) but that I hadn't received any bespoke gifts ... call from mm specialist promised next day but not received ... not sure I'm going to do anything more ? If the gifts are eups or tags I don't care ... if they are cash cards or priority awards or discount cards I do care but ...

while I am grateful for being able to gift my friend gold status for life one really has to wonder about a marketing plan along the lines of (hey let's incentivize loyal customers to prefer us to competitors by promising cool benefits and gifts but when the passenger attains the 2 million miles we'll make actually getting the gifts and benefits as frustrating and as dysfunctional AF 😂
