Agreed that AS/FJ should've done better, i.e. showing the correct baggage count on confirmation/website/app/etc.. But as far as itineraries with a stopover, my understanding is that baggage allowance granted to the higher class of service wouldn't carry over to the lower class flight, if they're separated by a stopover. At least this's what I usually have assumed.
