To be clear, this was booked by Delta (on AirFrance's metal). For most flights from MSP to places other than AMS, CDG or LHR you end up on either a KLM or AF flight for the second leg. The Delta Diamond desk should have been able to interact with Air France if in fact only they could put us on the Emirates flight as opposed to Delta. If they can help with their "partner" flights they why bother branding them as Delta flights in the first place?
