My last internal US 'F' TP award was 2015 - in the days of USAir gaining a handsome 540TPs for < $1k for a daytrip from WAS-CLT-LAX and return, now sadly only 360TPs on the same route. This is where the TPs system doesn't really work - a 40TP sector can be very short - or as in you case, long. At least it wasn't economy which usually yields a measly 5TPs. (For WAS to the west coast I always avoid half-way stops).
