A tale of
Failing the Fingerprint Sample
In November 2023 I went to HND T3 to get my TTP application finalized.
As mentioned in a post above, a patient and cooperative agent spent almost 1 hour with me but could not get acceptable fingerprints on any of my 5 digits! We even tried 2 readers and some worn out silicone pad to enhance my fingerprints. A big fail!
Another FT posted an agent suggested "rubbing his/her forehead" for the test. This got me thinking that my fingers were just too dry.
A few weeks before my February 2024 TTP re-interview HND T3, while reading FT, I reached back on my head to discover a couple of facts:
1. The back of my lower neck is somewhat oily.
2. Behind my ears and especially behind my earlobes are even oilier.
I was beginning to gain confidence!
On my morning to retry the TTP interview, I did the following:
1. I postponed my morning shower until after the interview.
2. On the train to HND, I nonchalantly rubbed my fingers on the back of my lower neck.
3. While the TTP agent was entering my data, I used the 5-10 minutes to rub my fingers behind my ears and earlobes.
This time my fingerprints passed with a superior score on the first try of the first digits!!!!!
I shared the above details with the TTP agent and we both laughed!
For those of us with dry or worn fingerprints!
