Ticket earns less PQP after mid journey flight change with add collect
I had a roundtrip A-B-A that lets say was supposed to earn 5k PQP.
After the first segment I changed the return to be B-C with a connection in EWR, which required an add collect of $1k.
Before the first segment the app said I would earn 5k PQP, 2500 each way. After the change the app said that the overall ticket would earn 6k PQP, but the remaining two segments combined would only earn 1500 PQP, apportioned between the two.
That's what ended up posting, so now I'm 2k PQP of what I paid in fare and what the app said I would earn for the overall ticket.
I contacted 1K voice and after a week they came back and said they would reach out to their Star Alliance partners to see if they are ok with me getting the proper credit. The ticket was international but on 016 ticket stock through corporate TA and entirely operated by United. They told me I'll have to wait 4 weeks for an answer from their "partners."
Has anyone had a situation where a change with an add collect like this resulted in lower PQP earnings and how do I expedite this? I hate having things like this open for weeks of back and forth.
