Best way to book open jaw for minors : RT or OW?
Would like some advice on considerations/how best to book this itinerary: my wife and I and our 2 boys (ages 14 & 17) fly together DC to SMF to visit grandma. Wife and I return while boys stay with grandma for additional wee but fly back SFO to IAD. Should this be booked as:
- 3 one ways (eg. IAD-SMF 4 pax; SMF-IAD 2 pax; SFO-IAD 2 kids)
- two round trips: (eg IAD-SMF-IAD for me and wife, open jaw IAD-SMF/SFO-IAD for 2 kids)
- something else?

The boys are experienced flyers, and I expect to book nonstops, but have never traveled by themselves.

Any recommendations for how best to book this?
