My home airport is IAD. if you connect in CLT you end up on a regional jet in the far end of the E concourse. It seems the connecting flights will usually depart from deep into B or C. AA schedules 35-45 minute connections at CLT. it does not take more than a 10 - 15 minute delay to misconnect at CLT and indeed I have done so more times there than anywhere else. I try to avoid AA at CLT if possible.
