There have been two occasions where I have been challenged for refusing to scan my bp (I never scan as everything is packed away ready for the security belt)
First time I told them to call a supervisor and after a chat with his colleague the staff member said I could go through without scanning
On the second occasion I just blanked the staff member and continued on my way whilst he grumbled to my wife “he’s very arrogant”. That made me smile.
I, likely the OP, will not be party to their manipulations and cannot abide those who make try to enforce made up rules
