Just, normally, Y food is a bit more edible than this PPT flight.
It obviously varies A LOT by lounge. Just like with restaurants, there are good lounges and bad lounges. In general, though, lounge food is WAY better than it was, say, 20 years ago. That's when you typically had just pretzel-like snacks and maybe some packaged cheese. I find that almost (but not all) lounges now have food as good as most coach int'l food, and some lounges have food significantly better than coach food. Usually, when you leave the US, the contract lounges (the ones below the caliber of, say, a Centuron Lounge) have better food than, say, "The Club at XXX." In general, I also value FC food much less than I did 20 years ago, because I usually wind up eating quite decently for free at the airport, But some of those lounges I only get into with my alliance status. I don't really understand why people care much when DL gives them a crummy meal on their 2 hour domestic flight. Like if you can get into a Sky Club or CL, or its equivalent, who would care?
