Double EQM February Hawaii!

Too tempting to pass up, so I did a quick DEN-SEA-HNL trip to grab those EQMS.

SEA-HNL

3:50 p.m.

(Bonus economy nosh.) I booked last minute so I died at no. 1 on the upgrade list DEN-SEA. Fruit and cheese was good as usual, plus a new jcoco cappuccino chocolate I have not yet tried.

Preflight water, coffee and sparkling wine were offered (on all three of my F legs, in fact; I guess somebody got the memo).

Nuts and a funny Mexican movie called "Nuestros Nobles" that had me laughing out loud. Bulkhead on the 737-800 (Toy Story/Disneyland logo) was roomy and homey.

Kalbi beef; very tender with a nice flavor. Sauce ramekin was messy but its contents were tasty.

Cheescake; I was expecting S&S but this was fine.

Early HNL departure on a 737-900. After takeoff I enjoyed a POG-mosa.

Island breakfast. Portuguese sausage was maybe linguiça but not spicy as I was expecting.

Beautiful day for flying. Both Hawaii segments were turbulent, especially SEA-HNL, for long stretches at a time.

Coffee and snickerdoodle offered later. Stumptown is still a disappointment. The crew was absolutely top-notch, offering drinks and snacks many times during the flight.

Nuts offered a bit later.

Long layover in Seattle, but it's the only way to avoid a redeye on this route. Pesto chicken sandwich, chips and that butterscotch-type bar that is indeed delicious. Our early arrival was negated by the two-day-a-week airport train closure in Denver. A long walk down to C70, then a bus ride to A, upstairs, then a walk across the bridge to the terminal and my car. Took 40 minutes plane to car. Ugh!

Alaska was back on its game this trip, happy to say. Doing New York tomorrow: DEN-SEA-EWR; JFK-SFO-PDX-DEN. More breakfasts!
