Obviously, Delta has decided (at least for the moment) that whatever positive brand recognition they could achieve by feeding their international coach passengers plausible meals is not worth the cost. I don't necessarily blame them -- I'm not sure anybody chooses an airline because the food is decent -- but it's quite the turnabout from just a few years ago when they were pitching the quality of their international coach experience.

For those of us who have access to airport lounges, the obvious thing to do when flying coach is to eat a filling meal at the lounge before the long flight (in most places, lounge food is much more extensive than it was even a decade or so ago). I will note that PPT doesn't have such a lounge, so you probably want to eat before getting to the airport.
