No pilot is ever faking a logbook entry to delay a flight 40min so late pax can get on.
IVe been a pilot for 17 years at 4 different airlines and never even heard of anything remotely like that being done.
I'm reminded of this quote from the movie A Few Good Men where the defense is submitting evidence of something that didn't exist.
Kaffee : [hands him the log books] Your Honor, these are the tower chief's logs for both Guantanamo Bay and Andrews Air Force Base. The Guantanamo log lists no flight leaving at 11 pm and the Andrews log lists no flight arriving at 2 am. I'd like to submit these as defense exhibits Alpha and Bravo.
