I have lost count how many times I've seen bits of food on the floor in lounges and cannot help but think if it was cleaned quicker then it would not attract the mice.
But then I can guarantee there will be someone in the lounge complaining of the vacuum cleaner noise, so you cannot win I suppose.
It's part of a solution, but for any area serving food (especially with open buffets), you can only do so much with just improving cleanliness before the mice discover the location of food and camp out. You need to have traps/poisons/what-have-you or the problem will continue to grow.
