I phoned SWA to cancel the tix for the following morning and tried to apply the credits towards a full fare tix home the following morning. I didn't have the confirmation # and SWA refused to look up the confirmation #, thus preventing me from using those credits for a tix home.
If that happens again, just say thanks, hang up and call back. I have needed to get a conf # on a number of occasions and I have never had an agent refuse to look it up.
